In local politics, it's easy to make promises about where things will be in four years. But we can also show what we've already delivered. Here are results that our candidates helped achieve in recent years:

Water Management Returning to City Control

Prague's water supply is strategic infrastructure, and the city should have real control over it. Between 2016 and 2018, Prague repurchased a 49% stake in Pražské vodovody a kanalizace (Prague Waterworks and Sewerage) from Veolia and secured an option for the remaining 51%. Karel Grabein Procházka, now the leader of Naše Praha 1, actively participated in preparing this step on behalf of the city.

Prague Services Fully Owned by the City

We applied the same principle to waste management and street cleaning. Prague bought out the remaining 20% stake in Pražské služby from AVE, becoming the 100% owner and regaining full control over one of the city's essential public services.

Municipal Operator for Public Lighting

We also helped initiate the creation of the city-owned company Technologie hlavního města Prahy, which manages public street lighting.

 

We firmly believe that Prague should professionally manage the infrastructure its residents use every single day. Unfortunately, attempts to consolidate the city's strategic water, gas, electricity, and waste management companies under a single holding structure were halted by the subsequent city leadership.

 

Developers Contributed CZK 51 Million to Prague 1

Prague 1 adopted Principles for Cooperation with Investors and Developers as the basis for planning agreements. Thanks to this, the district secured CZK 51 million for its budget. This is a concrete example of the policy we intend to pursue: negotiate with investors, set predictable rules, and protect the interests of local residents. When private investments generate profits while placing new demands on the surrounding area, the municipal district and its residents should benefit as well.

Clearer Rules for Municipal Commercial Properties

Prague 1 owns numerous commercial properties. We pushed through transparent, predictable rules for leasing them, creating unified lease agreements and rules to protect tenants' investments. The goal was to establish a more transparent and stable environment for local entrepreneurs. Now we want to go further: municipal property shouldn't just generate revenue. It must also help retain the local shops and services that residents need.

Financial Help You Can Actually Spend

We successfully introduced the Corrency system in Prague 1. Through this platform, the district council can provide targeted financial support to residents while keeping money circulating in the local economy. It helps seniors buy everyday groceries and medicines, and helps parents pay for children's leisure activities.

• For seniors, it provides practical help with everyday expenses.

• For families with children, it lowers the cost of sports and clubs that might otherwise be unaffordable. We want to expand this principle wherever it makes sense to support both local residents and local businesses.

Seniors Don't Have to Stay Home Alone

Supporting seniors isn't just about money. Prague 1 has a long tradition of senior trips, expert lectures, senior clubs, and guided tours of Prague. Candidates on our ticket helped launch and build these programs. Their value is greater than it might seem at first glance: they keep people active, connected, and involved in the community where many have spent most of their lives.
