I Want to Choose Individual Candidates

You can also mark individual candidates across different lists. You have as many votes as there are seats on the municipal council; you cannot mark more than that number. However, if you assign fewer crosses, those unused votes are effectively lost. Furthermore, every cross given to a candidate from another party means one less vote for the party list you marked with a large cross.

WHEN?

• Friday, October 9, 2026: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

• Saturday, October 10, 2026: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

WHERE?

At the polling station corresponding to your permanent residential address.

WHO CAN VOTE?

• Any Czech citizen who turns 18 no later than October 10, 2026, and has permanent
  residence in Prague 1.

• Any citizen of another EU member state who turns 18 no later than October 10, 2026, holds permanent or registered temporary residence in Prague 1, and is registered in the supplementary electoral roll.

WHAT DO I NEED?

A valid ID document—a valid national ID card or passport for Czech citizens; a permanent residence permit or temporary residence certificate for EU citizens. You can bring your ballot paper from home. If you forget or spoil it, you will receive a new one at the polling station.

I CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE POLLING STATION

If serious reasons prevent you from visiting the polling station, you may request a portable ballot box. Election committee members will then visit you at home within your voting district. Requests can be submitted to the local authority in advance, or to the district election committee on election days.

WHAT IF I AM OUT OF TOWN?

In municipal elections, you can only vote at your official place of permanent residence.
